To My Sisters

These are styled after maiden funerary garlands--headdresses composed of ivy, altar linen, and ribbons, wrapped around willow vines shaped and constructed as crowns or headdresses. During medieval times, objects similar to these hung over the pews where a virgin in the congregation previously sat.
